WPC Engineering
Engineered Resilience for Indian Conditions
Duroholz WPC (Wood Polymer Composite) doors replace the inherent vulnerabilities of natural timber with the engineered precision of polymer science. Our proprietary matrix blends refined wood fibres with high-grade PVC polymers and performance-specific additives to create a door material that retains the aesthetic warmth and structural “heft” of solid wood while being chemically and physically immune to moisture, termites, UV degradation, and fire the four forces that destroy conventional doors in India. This page explains the science, engineering, and performance characteristics behind every WPC door we manufacture.
Fire-Retardant WPC Door Engineering
Inherent Self-Extinguishing Behaviour :
Fire safety is integrated into the molecular structure of every Duroholz WPC door. The composite material is engineered to be naturally resistant to ignition at the polymer chemistry level. In the event of direct heat exposure, the WPC door exhibits self-extinguishing behaviour: it will not act as a fuel source and ceases to burn once the external flame is removed. This provides a critical layer of passive fire protection for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings meeting the safety requirements that wooden doors fundamentally cannot satisfy.
Indoor Air Quality E0-Grade WPC Doors
100% Formaldehyde-Free, Low-VOC Composition :
Occupant health drives our material choices. Duroholz WPC doors are completely free from the UreaFormaldehyde resins commonly used in plywood, MDF, and particle-board door cores. By achieving E0-grade certification (the strictest formaldehyde emission standard), our WPC doors guarantee low-VOC indoor air quality. This makes Duroholz WPC doors the specified choice for hospitals, schools, aged-care facilities, and any building pursuing IGBC, LEED, or GRIHA green building certification.
The High-Density WPC Door Core
600–750 kg/m³ Engineered Composition :
The Duroholz matrix combines refined wood fibres with high-grade polymers and performance additives to produce a high-density core ranging from 600 to 750 kg/m³ depending on the series. This density delivers the structural “heft,” acoustic mass, and satisfying tactile weight of solid hardwood doors while being 100% immune to termites, borers, and fungal decay. The homogeneous composition ensures consistent performance across every unit in a batch, unlike natural wood which varies grain-to-grain.
Hydrophobic WPC Door Technology
Near-Zero Water Absorption, Absolute Dimensional Stability :
Every Duroholz WPC door is engineered to be completely hydrophobic. With a near-zero water absorption rate, our WPC doors will not swell, rot, warp, or develop mould — even under direct water contact or sustained 90%+ humidity exposure. This means a Duroholz WPC door installed in a Mumbai monsoon zone performs identically to one installed in Rajasthan’s dry heat. The door maintains its factory-calibrated dimensions and smooth operation throughout every season, every year, for decades.
Hardware Integration Screw-Holding Strength
>2,000N Fastener Retention for Digital Lock Systems :
Modern buildings demand sophisticated hardware: digital locks, biometric access, RFID systems, automatic door closers, concealed hinges, and panic bars. All of these require a door core with exceptional screw-holding strength. Duroholz WPC doors are engineered to exceed 2,000N of fastener retention with the Timberra series exceeding 2,200N. This prevents the hardware loosening, stripping, and “frame-sag” that plagues conventional wooden and hollow-core doors, ensuring every handle, lock, and hinge remains perfectly functional for the entire life of the building.
